I hesitated working on this edging (ca. 1897 Weldon’s Practical Needlework, vol. 10, p.3) due to its slightly intimidating 24-row repeat. Once worked, I realized it could easily be an 8-row repeat with just a few changes. The edging starts with 15 stitches. 6 stitches are cast on near the end of the first row and bound off in the 8th row.
The swatch is 2.25 inches at its widest at gauge.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, k2tog, SSK, p2tog tbl (see notes) and bind off.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

30 yards of Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 thread will make 10 inches of “8 is Enough” edging at gauge.
