I modified the basic double crochet hat that most of us learned to make as one of our first crochet projects to create this pattern.

I adjusted the basic double crochet pattern by adding a decorative stitch around the bottom edge of the hat and adding a brim.
The decorative stitch turned the hat into a pill box style hat.

To add a little “bling” I crocheted a flower inspired by Irish Crochet and sewed it on just above the brim. The Bullion Stitch Flower was adapted from the bullion stitch flower from “Annie’s Crochet The Go-To-Book for Irish Crochet Motifs - 100+ Designs” Instead of using the traditional thread weight I made a 3 petal Bullion Stitch Flower from the same yarn as I used for the hat. You could add your own bling using a contrasting color yarn, or add a decorative button.

The pattern is written for adult small, adult medium and large are included in ( )
