A is for Apple
(aka The Early Bird gets the Worm)

The perfect teacher’s gift!
This little bird was up early enough to catch a big worm, but not to eat! These new friends will be munching their way through apples together for many years to come!

Pattern is written in English and includes 4 pages of full instructions including many photos to assist in construction; a list of supplies and techniques required and abbreviations.

Yarn:

  1. #4 medium, under 50gm in white, & red or green
  2. Small amount #3 light weight of brown for stem
  3. Small amount #3 light weight of colours for: bird’s body & wings, beak & feet, worm

(Note: other weights of yarn and needle sizes can be used, but this will affect the finished size)

Needles:
One set of two 3.25mm straight needles
Two 2.25mm dpn

Other Supplies:

  1. Small amount of stuffing
  2. Ribbon for hanging

Skill Level: Beginner to intermediate

Finished Measurements: Height: 11cm approx., circumference: 21cm approx.

Skills required:

  2. Knit
  3. Purl 4 Increase
  4. Decrease
  5. Cast off
  6. Very basic embroidery
  7. I-cord

Abbreviations:
St - Stitch
K - Knit
P - Purl
K2tog - Knit 2 together
Inc - Increase (by knitting or purling into the front & back of the stitch)
P2tog - Purl 2 together
Skp - Slip 1, K1, pass slipped st over Knit st
Sl - Slip st
