A Knot in Time Wrap is a mesmerising modern take on lace inspired by cable knitting.

This wrap uses 860m (940 yards) of lace weight yarn.

The pattern includes a chart for the lace work. The even rows of the lace is worked in plain purl. The lace stitches involved include: yarn over, k2tog, ssk, sl1-k2tog-psso, knit through back loop.

It is knitted flat as a long rectangle with a British moss stitch (seed stitch) border along the bottom and top edges. There is a narrow garter stitch edging along the side edges.

The finished size after blocking is length 61” (155cm) by width 15” (37.5cm). The shawl can be made narrower or wider by completing less or more repeats of the chart.

The photographed sample was knit with 3.00mm (2.5US) straight needles (or 24” (60cm) circular) and 2 skeins of Malabrigo, (100% merino wool), 50 grams/470 yards (430 meters) in Water Green (83); however, there are many other wonderful colours.

Enjoy and happy knitting!
