This simple scarf is a narrow version of the traditional Feather and Fan stitch pattern. The variation of Feather and Fan that incorporates a purl ridge creates the borders, while the same pattern--sans purl ridge--produces the body of the scarf.

The sample scarf is knit with ColorShift Yarn. Six small skeins of gradated shades of “Soft Blush” create an overall gradation from pale blush to a more saturated coral.

Along with the instructions (both written and charted) for knitting this lace scarf, notes are included for casting on for lace, fading the color of one skein into the color of the next, and blocking the long straight edges with wires.
