Description
The A Little Out of Sorts Socks are inspired by my love of advent calendars and stash busting, the stunning variety of bright colors during the holidays and a desire to start a new pair of cozy and colorful socks. The socks are designed with a heel flap and gusset and knit toe-up. They are knit in the round using magic loop with 32” needles (recommended) or needles of your choice. This colorwork design is ideal for those that want an extra cozy and squishy sock.
The difficulty level of the pattern is considered Adventurous Beginner. Sock knitting experience is a must! The Chart is relatively easy and therefore previous chart reading experience is helpful, but not required.

Sizes
XS, S (M, L, XL)
Imperial: 7-8”, 8-9” (9-10”, 10-11”, 11”-12”)
Metric: 17.8-20.3cm; 20.3-22.8cm (22.8-25.4cm; 25.4-28cm; 28-30.5cm)
Note: The sizes correspond with the foot circumference at the widest part of the foot.

Supplies List
Fingering Yarn: I used stash yarn in various colorways with a minimum of 25g total for each foot. Similar amounts are used for Main Color and Contrast Color. If you are knitting a larger size for the foot, you will require more yarn in both the MC and CC. This is reflected below.
Note: The Main Color should have high contrast with the Contrast Colors for a high contrast pattern. Similar colors, such as white and ivory, should be avoided to prevent mixing up the Main Color with the Contrast Color.
MC: 25-40g
CC: 15-25g; 2 different colors with recommended 20g each (e.g. advent minis or stash)
Note: use as much or as little of your CC that you like before you switch to the next CC.

Needles: US00/1.75mm, 32” magic loop (or needles of your choice)
Note: It is very important to swatch to determine the needle size necessary to obtain gauge. Colorwork often effects a knitter’s guage. You may require a different size needle for the colorwork sections.

Notions: Stitch Markers (2 unique markers), Progress Keepers (x2), Scissors, a Tapestry Needle, Ribbon, Sewing Needle and Thread of similar color to ribbon.
Note: The sizing for the ribbon will depend on how big of a ribbon you want.
