Update December 8, 2021: I’m happy to inform that I have added the ability to crochet this blanket using the Interlocking Filet crochet technique. Enjoy crocheting ! Mosaic crochet files remained unchanged.

For the Solid Overlay Mosaic crochet , you need to download the files:

  1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream Solid mosaic - written pattern for crocheting in the round and for bottom up row by row. Clickable table of contents on page 3 at the bottom of the page.
  2. Mosaic Solid In the Round Charts - charts for crocheting in the round
  3. Mosaic Solid Row by Row Charts - charts for crocheting bottom up row by row

For a slightly lighter and thinner blanket than a solid mosaic blanket (Overlay Mosaic crochet), you need to download the files:

  1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream mosaic - written pattern for crocheting in the round and for bottom up row by row. Clickable table of contents on page 3 at the bottom of the page.
  2. Mosaic In the Round Charts - charts for crocheting in the round
  3. Mosaic Row by Row Charts - charts for crocheting bottom up row by row

For Solid Interlocking Filet crochet you need to download files:

  1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream solid int - written pattern for crocheting in the round and for bottom up row by row. Clickable table of contents on page 3 at the bottom of the page.
  2. Interl Solid In the Round Charts - charts for crocheting in the round
  3. Interl Solid Row by Row Charts - charts for crocheting bottom up row by row Please note that this pattern requires a lot of attention and careful reading of the instructions.

For Interlocking Filet crochet you need to download files:

  1. A Midsummer Night’s Dream int - written pattern for crocheting in the round and for bottom up row by row. Clickable table of contents on page 3 at the bottom of the page.
  2. Interl In the Round Charts - charts for crocheting in the round
  3. Interlock Row by Row Charts - charts for crocheting bottom up row by row

For both techniques, it is possible crochet only the main part of the blanket, and then crochet the envelope border (mosaic) or the border (interlocking filet) in the round.

Upd: You can choose the option that you like best: with DCs side by side (solid mosaic) or there is always sc between DCs.

You require two colors of yarn, one for the main background colour (B) and one contrasting colour (A).
Terminology: all crochet terms used are U.S.

Technique: Overlay Mosaic crochet (solid, several DCs side by side) in the round or from bottom to top, row by row.

Yarn: Scheepjes Stone Washed
Yarn weight: Sport. Ball weight: 50 g, yarn length:130 m (142.17 yds).
Gauge: 10 stitches in 5cm (2”) by 10 rows in 5cm (2”) in mosaic stitch pattern.
Using a different gauge won’t affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.
Hook 3.25 mm. Hook size needed to match the gauge.
Yardage approx. 4000 meters of Sport weight yarn for each of your two colors, which is a total approx. of 8000 meters of yarn.
(4300 yards per colors, a total of 8600 yards of yarn, 1500-1600 g for each colors)
Size: 150 cm wide and 210 cm long (59 inches wide and 82 1/2 inches long).
