My grand daughter was singing “A million stars” and I imagined a sweater with lots of little stars all over it. Making the stars different colors was a good way to use up some stash.

This pullover is very easy to make. I designed it to be like a large and roomy sweatshirt-just rectangles sewn together.

Sizes:
Small Medium Large Extra large
Bust size: inches (cm) 34 (86) 40 (102) 45 (114) 50 (127)
Final size: inches (cm) 44 (112) 50 (127) 56 (142) 60 (152)
Body length: inches (cm) 23 (58) 24 (61) 25 (63.5) 26 (66)
Sleeve length: inches (cm)17 (43) 17 (43) 18 (46) 18 (46)
Yarn yardage:
Main color: yards (meters) 1260 (1200) 1450 (1300) 1720 (1600) 1900 (1800)
Contrast color for stars: yards (m) 58 (55) 65 (60) 80 (75) 90 (800)

Yarn: I used Briggs & Little Sport, a 1 ply pure wool yarn 4oz/113g/430yds/393m ball 3 (4, 4, 5) skeins for the main color. PLUS additional skeins of contrasting colors for the stars-see above for yardage.

Needles: size US6 (4mm) circular and straight needles. You need circular needles for the collar, so I used them for the whole sweater.

Skill level: fairly easy if you know how to change colors in your knitting. Each star has its own strand of color, while the main color is carried across.

Pattern is available in English only, and uses US knitting terms. The pattern in written out, while the stars are charted.
