Civil Wars, Whistleblower Tactics, Schematic Drafting, And The Finer Points Of Sith Adoption: The Essential How-To Guide For The Engineering Jedi is a Star Wars fanfiction series by Jackdaw_Kraai, published on AO3, that has taken on something of a life of its own. Jack’s clever storytelling and inventive worldbuilding has grabbed the hearts and imaginations of thousands, including my own- and two months, a lot of designing, and even more hours spent crocheting later, here we are!

One of my favorite pieces of the world Jack has created (though it’s extremely hard to choose!) is the culture Jack has created for Tatooine, and Luke Skywalker’s role within it. As a runner and Disciple of the Storm (one of the deities of Tatooine) Luke takes slaves under his wings and guides them through Flights along the Flightpaths to freedom- a story Jack tells with gorgeous prose and a poetic flare that can’t be ignored. As a lover of all things flighted myself, the winged imagery Jack uses couldn’t be ignored, and I set about designing something fit for the gorgeous pictures Jack painted. If you want anymore detail than that, you’re going to have to go read the stories yourself! (And I HIGHLY recommend you do.)
