“A Shawl of Snow and Flames” ist ein Dreieckstuch, dass als Halstuch oder Schultertuch getragen werden kann.

In der Anleitung ist beschrieben, wie Du für die Schulter-Variante Bänder zum Binden im Rücken mitstricken kannst, wenn Du möchtest (optional).

Du bekommst zwei Dokumente:

• Die Anleitung.
• Eine Schritt für Schritt-Anleitung in Bildern für einen Teil des Tuches. Das Dokument enthält außerdem eine Alternative für diesen Teil, wenn Du ihn etwas einfacher stricken möchtest. (Flames Anhang)

Die Anleitung enthält den ausgeschrieben Text für jede Reihe. Außerdem gibt es für zwei der vier Abschnitte zusätzlich ein Diagramm.

Wir haben für “A Shawl of Snow and Flames” unser handgesponnenes Garn genommen. Aber Du kannst jedes Garn verwenden.
Vielleicht nicht unbedingt Lace oder sehr dickes Teppichgarn, aber alles zwischen Fingering und Worsted ist schön.
Getestet haben wir es mit Sport, DK und Worsted (letztes wird ein sehr dickes Kuscheltuch).

In der Anleitung ist an zwei Stellen angegeben, wie Du Dein Tuch länger oder kürzer stricken kannst.

Je nach Dicke des verwendeten Garns, sowie der variablen Größe des Tuches, ist der Verbrauch auch sehr unterschiedlich.

Beispiel:
das ist bei den Fotos das graue mit den bunten Streifen
Nadelstärke 3,5mm (US 4), Sport, WPI 13
460 m helle Grundfarbe (das “grau”)
230 m dunkle Grundfarbe
7x 55 m verschiedene Farben

English

“A Shawl of Snow and Flames” is a Triangle Shawl. It can be worn on neck or shoulders.

The pattern contains laces. So you can bind the shawl behind your back, when worn on the shoulders (optional).

You get two documents:

• The main pattern.
• A step by step instruction with pictures (in continental knitting!) for one part of the shawl. There is an alternative also, if you want to knit this part a little bit easier. (Flames Attachment)

The pattern contains written instructions for every row. For two of the four parts of the shawl you get an additional chart.

We knitted “A Shawl of Snow and Flames” with our handspun yarn. But you can use every yarn you like.
Maybe not lace or a very thick one. But all between Fingering and Worsted will be fine.
We tested it with Sport, DK and Worsted (Worsted will be a really thick shawl).

The pattern gives you at two points instructions for making your shawl bigger or smaller.

It depends on the thickness of your yarn and the variable size of the shawl, how much yardage you need.

Example:
see pictures, it is the grey one with the multicoloured stripes
Needlesize 3,5mm (US 4), Sport, WPI 13
460 m bright main colour (the “gray”)
230 m dark main colour
7x 55 m various colours.
