The Shelly Beanie is an easy to make hat with a simple shell lace pattern on the body. The beanie will fit most adults, but the pattern can be sized up or down by changing the yarn weight, the hook size, the number of stitches on the first round or by adjusting the number of rounds on the crown. If adjusting the number of rounds, be sure the number of stitches on the final round of the crown is a multiple of six.

The Beanie is worked from the top down in joined rounds. The crown is worked flat with increases each round. The body has a two-round shell repeat and is worked even.
