A quick little Top Down snug shrug to cover up bare shoulders on a cool evening or in air conditioning! You have two choices of materials to make this shrug. You can use 2 strands of fingering weight yarn held together throughout to give you a tweedy affect (or use 2 strands of the same colour for a non-tweedy effect) and a thicker yarn which makes this a quick project (black and blue shrug).
We used one strand of semi-solid/hand-painted (blue) and one strand of a solid (black with a fleck of silver). This gives you a chance to use some of the gorgeous coloured fingering available in a garment for yourself.
You can also use a single strand of yarn in a Heavy Worsted/Aran weight which will also give you a lovely shrug in no time at all (winter white shrug). We used a boucle for a textured shrug but there are lots of yarns you can experiment with.
Note: The boucle yarn used in the white sample has a “ball band tension” of 18sts on a 5mm/US8 needle. We preferred it at little looser tension so used the 6.5mm/US10½ needle to obtain 14 sts.
