♫ The Music ♫
A Stor (Treasure) Mo Chroi (of my heart) is a 19th century Irish folk song written by Brian O’Higgins and, like so many ballads, speaks of travels and the love and warmth of home.

This blanket consists of 9 identical lace and cable squares.
Although actual cabling is minimal, the clever lace design makes it appear like it is much more involved. Each square begins with the Emily Ocker Cast On (picture tutorial included). The cast on stitches are then divided evenly among four double-pointed needles and the pattern is worked, in the round, from the centre outward. Once each square is finished, live stitches are placed on waste yarn to be joined later using a 3-needle bind off. A knit-on I-cord edging finishes the entire outer edge.

Designer Tip: Blocking each square individually, before joining, makes it easier to block the entire blanket at the end.

Stitch pattern is charted with written directions for the chart provided.

Adjusting the Size
The blanket can easily be made larger by adding more squares; this will, of course, require more yarn than listed in the pattern. Each additional square requires approx. 2 extra balls of Knit Picks Andean Treasure; this is enough for 1 square plus the additional yarn required for the 3-needle bind off and I-cord edging for that square.

Size
9-Square Blanket: 52 x 52” / 132 x 132cm.
Each Square: 17 x 17” / 43 x 43cm.

Needles
5mm / US8 set of 5 DPN or size required to obtain gauge.
5mm / US8 circular needle 24”/ 60cm or same size as gauge needle.
5mm / US8 or smaller, two circular needles 48-60” / 122-152cm long for 3-needle bind off.

Gauge
19 sts and 36.5 rows = 6” / 15cm in pattern stitch, in the round, blocked.

Notions
4.5mm / US7 crochet hook for cast on only, stitch markers (3 same and 1 unique to mark the beginning of round), blocking wires and/or pins, large-eyed needle for weaving in ends, smooth waste yarn for holding live stitches for each square.
