Gauge is mentioned in the pattern. 4 sts per inch in st st, and 6 sts per inch for ribbing.
The different patterns of the Aran Isles all represent something. They used to be put together in sweaters to represent a certain family line, or to tell a story. I decided to go with tradition and tell a story of the Christian Faith.
Matthew 4:19 says: ‘and He (Jesus Christ) said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” ‘ Being as so many of the patterns of the Isles stood for “good luck on a good catch,” I found this verse appropriate.
It is a story of faith. Wear it proudly for Christ Jesus!
