Notes:
➔ The scarf version won’t require a hook cable for working the stitches – the scarf is short enough to use on a hook only, simply put a stopper at the back end to keep the stitches on. Rubber bands are quick, immediate stopper options, but needle stoppers like Hiya Hiya Pandas are cute to use.

➔ With this study of simple stitches, it is meant to show a variety of stitches that utilize the front vertical bar, and simply build onto the simple stitch idea. This focus has a vertical flow, with a combination of standard and lace stitches, and a mix of easy and intermediate stitches as development progresses.

➔ The scarf and cowl have the same row count and pattern styles, but differ in stitch count and when the project is complete. After one set of sample stitches, the cowl will have the bind-off and be sewn together. The scarf, on the other hand, will simply reverse the pattern so it’s identical length-wise on both sides.

➔ For a fun option, do the solid blocks in one color and the lace work in another color.

➔ In order to help newer Tunisian crochet enthusiasts, I have included an appendix at the end of this pattern with some free reference websites on how to complete each stitch. Eventually I’d like to have my own website and youtube channel showing how to do each stitch, but until then, please feel free to check out the given resources to learn how to complete this beautiful item.

Thank you, I would love to see some pictures of your completed item!!
