This is the June/July 2020 MKAL pattern for the Solid Socks group! The pattern will be released here in a series of 4 Clues, on the first four Mondays in June (6/1, 6/8, 6/15, and 6/22). Join the group for some fun sock knitting!

Description: When a trip to San Diego is mentioned, most people immediately think about the beautiful beaches and ocean views. Those are wonderful for sure, but on this trip we’ll be exploring all four of San Diego county’s “micro-climate” areas - the scenic coast, the populated inland areas built around natural canyons, the mountains, and the desert. San Diego has it all! This cuff-down sock design is written for three widths, and is presented in four clues containing instructions in text and charts.

Sizing: The pattern is written for three widths:

  • Narrow Width: 6.0 - 7.5 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • Medium Width: 7.5 - 9.5 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • Wide Width: 9.5 - 11 inch circumference at ball of foot
  • And foot length is determined by the knitter.

About the Yarn: This project uses approximately 325 to 375 yards of fingering weight sock yarn.

Accessories Needed: Standard knitting tools, cable needle, stitch markers, and a darning needle to weave in ends.
