The Donkey is a stuffed doll and part of the Wee Nativity. He is worked in the round from the bottom up, with i-cord ears, legs, and tail, and embroidered hair.

Yarn: This project is ideal for small amounts of leftover yarn. The donkey as pictured uses sport-weight cotton for his body and sport-weight wool for his hair. You should not need more than 20 yards of any single yarn.

Supplies:

  • 4 US size 5 double-pointed needles
  • polyester fiberfill
  • tapestry needle

Gauge: Gauge is not that important. Use needles that give you a reasonably tight fabric (so there’s no fiberfill escaping) and you should be all right.

Finished Measurements: The donkey will measure approximately 4 inches long (not including the tail).
