A Week of Spooky Baubles
A Week of Spooky Baubles features 7 quick and satisfying projects perfect for showing your Halloween spirit. The set includes one striped, one textured, one cabled, and four stranded designs. I knit my samples using Marianated Yarns Practicality, a light fingering workhorse sock yarn.
Day 1 is a striped cozy designed as your swatch project. For best results, start here. If your stitch or row gauge is off—or if you don’t love the resulting fabric—adjust your needle size before knitting the remaining covers.
Day 2 kicks off the spellcasting with a jaunty witch’s hat, worked in stranded colorwork.
Day 3 continues the strandwork with an essential spell component: eye of newt.
Day 4 introduces texture to your potion with a tactile bauble representing another key ingredient.
Day 5 brings wing of bat into the mix—because no proper spell is complete without it.
Day 6 features cable spiders, which are surprisingly fun to knit (and less creepy than they sound).
Day 7 stirs it all together in the cauldron for a final flourish of Halloween magic.
These bauble covers are designed to fit a 2.63” / 67 mm diameter plastic ornament.
For a few rounds, you will be creating your stitches with the plastic bauble nestled inside the knitted fabric. For your safety, please do not use a glass ornament to create this project!
