BERTHA MAXWELL and “Gerda” (our knitting expert) have collaborated this week for your benefit. The result is both enchanting and practical… Bertha Maxwell presents on her colorful page a smart, two-piece spring suit (with matching hat), and here you have the sweetest of jumpers to wear with it. Knitted in 2-ply wool, it is light yet will give you just that extra amount of warmth necessary in the spring weather. YOU’LL note that a motif from the enchanting cross stitch transfer used for decorating the suit is repeated on the front of jumper, just below the yoke. This motif can be worked in a contrasting shade to the jumper, but if the jumper is to be worn with the suit, embroider it with the same thread as that used for the suit.

Materials: 5 skeins of white 2-ply wool, pair of No. 13 steel needles, pair of No. 9 bone needles.

Measurements: Length from shoulder to lower edge, 19 inches; bust, 34 inches; sleeve seam, 5 inches.
