Three different patterns in one bundle!

Aalto Baby Blanket, Aalto meaning ‘wave’ in Finnish, has gotten its name from the wavy structure of the blanket.

This beautiful and soft baby blanket is an essential in the first years. It can be taken along to the adventures you and your little one will have and be easily washed in the washing machine if dirty (when made with superwash yarn). The blanket is super versatile and can be used in the pram, a cot, a crib and even as a play mat! Made with love, the blanket makes an awesome and unique keepsake after it is no longer needed!

Personally, this blanket has a quite a lot of meaning. I’ve had a tradition that every baby that is born in the family or to my friends gets their own baby blanket. I’ve now crocheted maybe a dozen of blankets in the last few years, and that is actually how Peittopaja (meaning ‘Blanket Factory’ in Finnish) got started! I can say from my own experience that the blanket is a really valued gift and will get a lot of use, especially when made from superwash yarn.

The pattern itself is ranked ‘easy’ and is also suitable for beginners. The wavy pattern is achieved with few basic stitches that are easy to learn. Crocheted with the 3,5 mm (UK 9, US E/4) the blanket will move on nicely and is ready in no time! This booklet will first walk you through the basic pattern for the blanket and then for the three different variations. The basic pattern shows you the technique and the basic instructions for the blanket (basically the structure), and the three additional variations will show you different ways to use colors making beautiful blankets!
