2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needle, 60 cm (24”) or 80 cm (32”) long, for magic loop – or a set of 2.5 mm (US 1.5) double-pointed needles (DPNs).
Yarn Substitution
The socks can be knit in many different sock yarns (fingering weight) with approx. 400 m per 100 g (437 yds per 3.5 oz).

Gauge
32 sts x 47 rnds = 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) in stockinette stitch on 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needles.
Abelone is knit top-down: from the cuff, down the leg, over the heel and foot, finishing with a rounded toe. The sample was knit on a circular needle using the magic loop method, but you can of course use DPNs if you prefer. A sock with a shadow wrap heel consists of: ribbed cuff, leg, first and second half of the heel (worked with double stitches and triple stitches), foot and toe.

Fremgangsmåde
Abelone strikkes fra skaftet, ned over hælen og foden og slutter med en afrundet tå. Strømpen er strikket på rundpind med magic loop metoden, men kan naturligvis strikkes på strømpepinde, hvis du foretrækker det. En strømpe med shadowwrap hæl består af: ribkant, skaft, første og anden halvdel af hælen, som strikkes med dobbelt- og tripplemasker, fod og tå.
