’Abstract Balance’ is a symmetrical pattern created by using random shapes. The pattern is knit by using stranded colourwork.

There are very few occasions where you will need to catch your colourwork floats, so this is a great pattern for a beginner colourwork knitter, or for those who are wanting to strengthen their colourwork skills.

Yarn Used:

The pattern calls for 2 contrasting colours of DK weight yarn. For my pattern I used Lang Yarns…

  • Main Colour: Merino 120 #35 - Mystery Ocean, 130 yards
  • Contrast Colour: Merino 120 Degrade #7 - Vivid, 60 YARDS

Needles:

  • 3.50mm and 4.00mm needles on a 16” cord and 4.00mm DPN’s or needles on a 40” cord for Magic Loop.

Gauge:

  • 22 sts / 4” in Stockinette Stitch

Sizes Available:

  • Adult: will fit up to a 24” circumference

Additional Materials Needed:

  • 4 Stitch Markers, one unique for BOR

  • scissors

  • darning needle
