A fun collection for fall, Abstraction features four designs inspired by abstract art, using the visual language of shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may be independent from visual references in the world (wiki).

Abstruse

Abstruse is a stranded colorwork cowl knitted in the round, worked from a chart. Change the width of the cowl using the multiple provided, and change the length of the cowl by omitting or repeating any of the sections. Optional colorwork sections are provided on the last page that are not shown in the sample. Mix them up!

Choose to do the cowl with broken ribbing for your borders (sample shown), or make a long tubular cowl and graft the ends together with kitchener seaming. Note that for a tubular cowl, you may need up to twice the yardage used for the sample in order to make it long enough. Video links are provided for all provisional cast on steps.

The design is suitable for fingering to worsted weight yarns; just be sure to adjust your yarn requirements accordingly when making substitutions.
