Abya Yala in the language of the Kuna culture means “mature land”, “living land” or “land that blooms” and is synonymous with America.

The expression Abya Yala has been used by the original cultures of the continent to self-designate, as opposed to the expression “America.”

It is the name of our lands before being colonized.

Abya Yala is a Sweater that comes in a version for Circular Needles and Crochet that you can find soon in other publications.

I cannot fail to thank the company Urth Yarns for having supported this project, since without them and the support of all of you, I could not continue working on what I like so much!

Construction Notes:
This Sweater has a Bottom Up Modified Drop Shoulder construction.
This pattern is presented in 10 different sizes.
To choose the measure you like best, you must measure the circumference of your chest and choose the final size of the garment that suits you. It is advised that you choose a positive ease of 15 or 20 cm (6” / 8”), that is to say that to the measure of the circumference of your chest you must add 15/20 cm and choose the instructions that approach that total in the final measurements of the garment after blocking.

Personal Note:
The model in the picture (me) has a chest circumference of 87 cm (34” ½ ) and dress the size 2 of the table although I would have liked to knit a size 4 for me.

Yarns:
For this design I used Harvest Worsted from Urth Yarns.
Each skein is 100 gr / 200 m / 3oz ½ / 225 yd.
Composition 100% Merino Superwash. Worsted weight.

• CA: Cinnamon (brown) 70 / 75 / 85 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 / 150 / 170 / 190 gr
• CB: Buckthorn (mustard) 55 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 / 130 / 150 gr
• CC: Natural Ecru 320 / 320 / 350 / 390 / 430 / 470 / 500 / 550 / 590 / 650 gr

Needles:
Knitting Circular Needles 4 mm / US6 for rib
Knitting Circular Needles 4,50 mm / US7
Cable 80 cm.

Notas de Construcción:
Abya Yala Knitting Sweater tiene una construcción Bottom Up (de abajo hacia arriba) Modified Drop Shoulder (de hombro caído modificado), lo que hace que no sea un diseño completamente recto sino con una caída más estilosa de acuerdo al cuerpo real de las personas.
Este patrón viene presentado en 10 medidas diferentes.
Para escoger la medida que más te guste, debes medir la circunferencia de tu pecho y elegir la medida final de la prenda que más te convenga. Se aconseja que escojas una holgura positiva de 15 o 20 cm, es decir que a la medida de la circunferencia de tu pecho debes sumar 15 cm y escoger las instrucciones que se acerquen a ese total en las medidas finales de la prenda después de bloquear.

Nota Personal:
La modelo de la foto (yo misma) tiene una circunferencia de pecho de 87 cm y viste la medida 2 de la tabla aunque me hubiese gustado tejer para mí una medida 4.

Para este diseño utilicé hilados Harvest Worsted de Urth Yarns.
Cada ovillo es de 100 gr / 200 m / 3oz ½ / 225 yd.
Composición 100% Merino Superwash. Calibre Worsted.
