The Abyssal Eel Hat is a variation of my Brain Eater Hat. Basic knowledge of crochet stitches and terms is required.

Materials: 5mm hook - 4mm hook for the eyes

Worsted weight yarn in five colors - the actual colors are your choice - 1 color for the main body (MC), 1 contrast color (CC) for the fins, black/white/MC for the eyes, red for the gums, white for the teeth. You will also need a small amount of a 2nd contrast color for the eyelids.

scissors, stitch marker, needle for sewing & weaving in ends

The main body of the hat is worked with joined rounds; the eyes are worked in rounds. The fins are worked in rows. SLST to join every round of the main body, and CH 2 at the beginning of every round. CH2 does not count as the first stitch. When switching colors, I prefer to tie the short ends of the two colors into a knot, to help secure them better. This way you don’t have to worry about the yarn coming unraveled with use.
