Why are your patterns no longer on Ravelry?:
In June 2020, Ravelry announced a redesign of their new website. While the aesthetics of the site could be debated, the new site triggered hundreds of migraines in migraine sufferers, and at least eight confirmed seizures in users. In response, Ravelry has shut down the “Accessibility” thread in their “For the Love of Ravelry” forum, silencing their neurodiverse user base. Furthermore, their statement of clarification made it clear that they do not (at the moment) intend for their site to be inclusive to those needs.

As a frequent migraine sufferer myself (although my migraines were not personally triggered by the site’s redesign), I cannot in good conscience direct my followers to a harmful and potentially dangerous website. Consequently, I have removed the files from my Ravelry pattern pages, with users instead being asked to redirect to my website — a website that was designed with those various needs in mind (thanks to the help I received from friends who are UI/UX developers and usability advocates).

Join me on a yarnie road trip as we knit our Accidental Adventure cowls! Follow the map, or indulge in some detours; the choice is yours.

You can choose to knit this cowl with the recommended yarns and colorways for a retro 70s-inspired cowl with some cozy fall vibes, or experiment and come up with your own color palette.

With some math and creativity, you can change around, add, or subtract sections for a more customized journey.

DETAILS
Sizes: One size, but easily adjustable. Following the pattern exactly will produce a cowl that blocks out to 13” x 44”.
Yarn: The pattern is written for fingering weight yarns, but may also be knit up in sport weight for an extra squishy cowl. If you would like to knit this using DK weight, I recommend going up a needle size or two.
MC1: 150 yards
MC2: 275 yards
6 mini-skeins (CC1-CC6), each with 40 yards (total 240 yards)

Recommended Yarns:
Marianated Yarns, Scrumptious HT base.
Sample is knit in the colorways Charlotte and Clouds in my Coffee.
Marianated Yarns, Marianette Gradient set.
Sample is knit in the set Not All Who Wander.
Kits may be purchased here!

Needles: Needles in US 6 (4mm).

Gauge: Gauge is not critical, but should approximate to 23 stitches and 46 rows after blocking for 4 inches squared in garter stitch.

SUPPORT FOR THE DESIGNER
Designing is a fulfilling hobby for me, so I will not be charging for my patterns at this moment in time. However, if you would like to tip me, please feel free to do so at my Ko-fi page. Ko-fi’s are never expected but always appreciated.
