Acorn Purse

This very simple little bag, inspired both by the textures and shapes of acorns but also by the broad structure of medieval style purses, can be knit with any yarn and suitable needles. I suggest fingering/4ply yarn and 2.5mm or dk/sport and 3.5mm needles for example. The pattern lends itself particularly well to magic loop technique although any in-the-round technique will work just fine.

Yardage needed will vary depending on the yarn you choose, but it takes very little (my 4ply version needed just 16g of yarn for example), really good for finishing part balls as a stash buster.

After knitting, the purse may be very lightly fulled to firm up the texture, though testers have also worked it in yarn that does not full with good effect.

Trim to suit, a button closure, a drawstring, maybe even a simple shoulder strap, this is a quick, easy to knit bag which lends itself well to minor variations.
