When designing, I usually go one of two ways: choose the design first and select yarn to match, or let the yarn lead me to the design. This was the second case. My friends at Around the Table Yarns asked me to work with their collaboration blend from Acorn & Oak, and the moment I had it in my hands, I knew I wanted something textural that let the yarn be the star. This all-over acorn motif felt like the perfect tribute, both to the brand’s new name and to our local autumn oaks. I chose a long, narrow shape to echo the winding trails here in Ohio, with the practicality of something you can actually wear on an outdoor adventure, like a scarf.
