Ada Socks
The Ada Socks (named after the Elvish word for Dad - told by Arwen to Elrond) are a beautiful contrast of cabled stitches and lace. If you are looking for an interesting project with stages of peaceful and repetitive knitting, than you will love this project!
An additional version of this pattern is now available for download when you purchase this pattern, along with the original.
The pattern is written according to stitch count and in relation to stitch markers –this means you can use any tool/technique for making your socks that you prefer. Also note, that if you decide to use 9 inch circular needles, that you will need DPN’s for closing the toe.
Sizes are as follows: Small, Medium and Large
Small size is shown on model, who normally wears a ladies’ 6.5 - 7 US Shoe Size. For Medium US Shoe size 8 – 9, and Large for 10 - 11 (or men’s sizes)
The original pattern features a German Short Row Heel, with links to video tutorials to help you with both Double Stitches and the process of short rows.
The new version features a Heel Flap and Gusset construction as well as a simpler design on the instep.
There are lace charts in the pattern for your convenience!
The yardage for the project is as follows:
Small: 260 yds/239 m
Medium: 294 yds/269 m
Large: 335 yds/306m
I am available for pattern support through my email listed in the pattern, and I am so happy to help! I do not check Ravelry daily, so messages sent here might not be read right away. Thank you so much for your support of my small business!
