Adalyn Cowl
This is a simple pattern that really only uses 2 row repeats. There are a few additional rows in the beginning for constructing the buttonholes, but then it’s a simple matter of repeating the 2 rows. The rib on the side also makes it lay flatter, since we’re doing a lot of stockinette stitch, and it won’t curl on the sides.
This is designed to be a unisex pattern, so you can use a soft color for ladies, or a earth tone for guys. It has a nice geometric pattern and simple lines. I love adding buttons to cowls! It adds a quaint touch to a knitted item. I have used both shank buttons and buttons with holes with success for this pattern.
This pattern can also be made in a fingering or sock yarn, if you have more yardage on your skein.
