Adam - Tunisian Beanie
A Tunisian simple stitch (Afghan stitch) classic with a number of easy variatons. Needs a 9mm Tunisian hook and 50-100g Aran weight yarn. I work exclusively in acrylic because i’m allergic to wool but wool or mixed Aran works well and you can get some fantastic colours (I can get cream so I use cream :P). This hat is worked flat and has a seam at the back. There are a number of Tunisian tutorials on YouTube if you haven’t tried this stitch before, it’s super easy and a little addictive. Crochets up into a cozy dense fabric with a very distinctive pattern. Includes charts and two length options, plus two brim options.
For 2 Colours use 2 balls of 25 - 35g each (good for using up scraps) for more colours add as you go. To grade up for larger sizes add 3 1/2 stitches per inch required at the outset and remember it will take more rows to decrease so you may want to start a little earlier, depending on the final shape you want.
