At last! Due to popular demand - The Matilda’s Meadow Snuggle Blanket for Adults.

Snuggle up with your little Mermaids in this luxury Chunky Knitted Blanket - Being a Mermaid has never been such fun, or so cozy! Get knitting now in time for Christmas - it won’t be long! This is the perfect gift for those who love to read stories and dream about the sea while snuggled up on the couch. The stitch is inspired by fishing nets and the colors by the ocean, and the blanket is simply gorgeous to wear - soft, stretchy and really cozy - the mesh pattern is light but traps the heat to keep you warm even when there’s snow on the ground outside!

The pattern includes instructions for a cute headband with sea-rose, which you can make from the left-over scraps of yarn - mermaids need to be beautiful as well as comfy!

Please note that the fit of the snuggle is loose for comfort - This is NOT a fitted, figured tail design so there is no real shaping involved except for the tail fins, where I give row-by-row instructions.

The snuggle blanket is knitted in the round so that there are no seams and NO sewing involved except for the joining the headband. You’ll need to be happy knitting on a circular needle and on straight conventional needles with 2 or 3 strands of yarn held together (main cocoon is worked with 1 strand of bulky or chunky yarn, and 1 strand of dk, both held together and worked as one strand. The tail fins are worked with 3 strands of dk held together - this makes them nice and firm, just like tail fins ought to be. You could use one strand of super bulky or super chunky yarn instead, but do check your gauge before you begin - you may need to change your needle size to achieve the correct dimensions.
If you choose not to use the recommended yarn, I’ve included tables with approximate meterage required for each size. Just take this to your yarn store and they will help you work out the number of skeins required.

The pattern is easy to master and fun to work - a satisfying knitting project for intermediate knitters. If you’ve followed basic knitting patterns and are ready for a large project this will be a great way to improve your skills. Each step of the design is explained in English and there are color photos to guide you through the process.

You will work the main part of the tail with 2 strands of yarn held together - 1 strand of DK and 1 bulky (chunky) yarn. You can use superchunky (super bulky) if you prefer, but I love the effect of combined colors and textures, which make it a beautiful knit. ALWAYS check your gauge/tension before you begin if you want to achieve the correct size.

You knit this on large needles (main part on 8mm needles (US 10 1/2)) so it knits up quickly.
