What you will need:

  • 3.5mm (US size 4) knitting needles. Circular or straight needles, that’s up to you.
  • For this pattern I’ve used 24 colours of fingering weight pima cotton (100g/ 400m). (De Draadzaak yarn advent 2021, https://www.dedraadzaak.nl/en_GB/).
  • I’ve used 480 grams in total. Please feel free to use any kind of (fingering weight) yarn.
  • Darning needle
  • Stitch markers
  • Blockingmats, wires and/or pins to block your finished piece. Abbreviations:
  • K: knit
  • P: purl
  • m1: make one
  • K2tog: knit 2 together (1 st decreased)
  • ssk: Slip 2 sts one by one knitwise, knit them together through the back loop. (1 st
  • decreased)
  • RS: right side
  • WS: wrong side (back of your work)
  • ** Repeat what’s in between the * Good to know:
  • The shawl can be made with any kind of yarn. With a heavier weight yarn you’ll need less rows to get it nicely sized. Be sure to match the needle size with your yarn.
  • The shawl should have a nice smooth drape. Use bigger needles when the shawl turns out to be stiff and/or not pleasant to wear.
  • I used stitch markers between each repeat to make it easier to keep up with the pattern and each individual repeat.
