Adventure dress
This is a quick and satisfying pattern to knit in the round. It knits from the straps down to the hem. It comes off the needles fully done and has a lot of pretty full fashioning details. Most of it can be knitted without actually looking at the pattern constantly. My 2yr old daughter loves it and gets so many compliments on it. It’s comfortable, and easy to take on and off all by herself. She wears it probably twice a week and works all year round in Brooklyn. I made the first version when she was about 14mo (but wearing 2yr old sizes). And I made the second when she was about 3yrs old, but wearing 4T, I’m calling this size 3/4T. I’m sharing a 1 year old size, a 2yr old size, and a 3/4yr old size.
Guage info:
4 stitches per inch and 6 rows per inch.
I used size 6 US 4mm needles
Cascade 220 superwash (sage green pics)
(about 1.5 skeins for size 2T)
Argyle Yarn’s Luminous Brooklyn Dazzling DK (purple/pink dress pics) (2-2.5skeins for size 3-4T)
Tools:
- a 29” (or longer length) circular needle to knit magic loop.
** If you are not familiar with magic loop, you can start on a smaller circumference (the neck strap area is like 16-18” in circumference and the chest is about 22” in circumference) for the neck and chest then switch to a bigger loop when you run out of space to knit the flared skirt part on longer needle loops.
- You’ll need some way to mark stitches - about 10 total.
This is my first ever pattern upload, and I am considering adding more, so let me know what you think!
