This is a simple and fun sweater, perfect for play and all kinds of adventures. It is a satisfyingly quick knit, designed to be cozy and oversized.

It is knitted in the round, top down on circular needles.
In the pattern listing pictures, you can see a funky rainbow design, this is acheived by holding 3 or 4 strands of DK yarn together. It looks amazing when knitted this way and is a fantastic way to use your scrap yarn up. Please check tension before doing it this way so you can be sure of how many strands and needle size to use

Materials

Needle size 
5mm 40cm circular needles and 10mm 60cm circular needle (the shorter, smaller one is used for the neck and sleeve rib)

Tapestry needle ( weaving in ends)
Stitch holders or scrap yarn
Stitch markers or scrap yarn 
Scissors
Measuring tape 

Tension 
10 stitches 14 rows to 4 inches
Super chunky yarn is quite sensitive to tension.
Even a small change in gauge can affect the final size significantly, so swatching is strongly recommended.
If your tension is looser, the sweater will come out larger.
If your tension is tighter, the sweater will come out smaller.
Adjust needle size as needed to achieve the correct gauge.

This pattern is intentionally designed to be oversized, with generous positive ease.
Expect approximately 15–25 cm of ease, depending on the child’s build and the size chosen.
If you would prefer a more standard fit, you may wish to size down
