Ægeria was one of the four water nymphs known as the Camenæ in ancient Rome. Pregnant women worshiped her to help ease delivery. She was also known as a prophet who could foretell a person’s future.

Shawl starts with a long cast on, then the swirling eddies of lace are worked before the shawl is shaped by garter stitch short rows to form a pleasing crescent.

Size (length measured along top of lace just under short rows): 61 x 10 (78 x 11, 95 x 13) inches; 155 x 25 (198 x 28, 241.5 x 33) cm.
