As I was browsing in my Local Yarn Shop, this skein of Handmaiden’s Sea Silk jumped out and inspired me to create a scarf with a Grecian Military theme. Thus was born Aegis (pronounced E-jis), the shield of Athena the Greek goddess of strategic warfare. If you look closely the pattern resembles what looks like rows and rows of Greek soldiers with their shields forming the front of their battle line. Although this pattern looks intricate, it is quite easy to work with. It is only patterned on one side with purling the wrongside rows. A great one skein project for a sumptuous yarn!

I had about 6 grams left after completion. This pattern is written in chart form with two options for ending the scarf.
