This is a chart only for the yoke of an icelandic sweater, it is adapted from an ancient motive called “Aegishjalmur” which is a magic symbol to protect from abuse of power, a shield! :)
The chart starts at row 16 of the yoke, until then just knit straight up. This fits a sweater in lett lopi ( istex.is) with needle nr. 4,5 in XL, for each size smaller take out about 2 rows of the yoke chart.
Either make up your own icelandic sweater or find a pattern in which you then replace the yoke chart with the one provided here. This one is based on Project Nr. 3 in Istex Lopi book Nr. 28, but you can make it work with pretty much any pattern in about the same yarn etc., free patterns on www.istex.is (f.ex.)
