This modern top down Icelandic yoke sweater worked in the round comes with the option of a round shaped hood with a high neck line or hood-less with a lower neckline. Short rows are used, as well as stranded knitting in the yoke: use just one or many colours.
After designing this in 2019 it went on to be published in print only in Finnish. Here it is for you as a download in English, Deutsch & Íslenska.

Sizes are given for 2 different gauges, the yarns to chose from will knit up at either gauge resulting in a different drape. So make a swatch and block before you decide.
A: gauge 18 sts/ 26R per 10cm/ 4 inches
OR:
B: gauge 16 sts/22R ðer 10cm/ 4 inches

Body circumference:
A: (89, 96, 102, 109, 116) cm;
(35, 38, 40, 43, 45.5) inches.
B: (100, 108, 115, 123, 130) cm;
(39.5, 42.5, 45, 48, 51) inches.

Sleeve circumference at top:
A: (37, 37, 38, 39, 40) cm; (14.5, 14.5, 15, 15.5, 16) inches.
B: (41, 41, 43, 44, 45) cm;
(16, 16, 17, 17.5, 17.5) inches.

Length of body from under arm:
(38, 40, 40, 42, 44) cm;
(15, 16, 16, 16.5, 17.5) inches.

Length of sleeve from under arm: (48,50,50,51,52) cm;
(19, 19.5, 19.5, 20, 20.5) inches.

The yarn list is long but I wanted to include all the Icelandic options I love to work with. It is a matter of personal taste which gauge you choose:
Hulduband works up well at 18st for me using a 4mm needle, it ist soft and just the right density.
Tvíband from Thingborg I prefer at 16sts7 10cm with a 4.5mm.
A single thread of plötulopi, either handdyed by Hörpugull, or a combination of 1 strand plötulopi in sheep colour with a fine lace yarn, has a wonderful flow and makes lighter sweater that still is warm. (16sts/ 10cm on a 4þ5mm needle).
Tension differs from knitter to knitter, as does preference for density of your knitted fabric - so make a swatch!
For the pattern colour it totally works to take a slightly heavier - or denser yarn. I used plötulopi and lace yarn together in the main colour and a Tvíband with more density for the pattern.

Val á 2 prjónafestur: A eða B.
