This Pattern is Retired…but you can (probably) get it in November

I have a lot of patterns! But I also get overwhelmed if I have to deal with them all at once. So I’ve picked 12 of my favorites (the Core Collection) to keep around. Then every few months, I decide on a theme or a technique and make a handful of related patterns (the Rotating Collection) available for a little while (then they go away again). 

The other patterns are retired and are not generally available. However, because I know some folks will want them, I make many the retired patterns available for a few weeks every November. I shouldn’t admit this, because it’s going to make at least a few of you deeply uncomfortable, but I find myself unspeakably fascinated with the strands of kelp and seaweed that cling tight to the rocks. They always look just the tiniest bit alien, especially the kinds with row after row of tiny air chambers (they help the seaweed float so it gets enough light to grow). This stitch captures a bit of that feeling but without any danger of something cold and slimy brushing against your ankle!

Just a quick word of warning, these socks absolutely will take more yarn than you might expect. The dip stitches are beautiful (and so much fun to do), but they do use up quite a bit of yarn. So if you have bigger feet, or if you like a tall leg on your socks, consider looking for a generous skein of yarn. And maybe unravel your swatch, just to be safe!
