African dreams
For all lovers of tapestry mosaic – African vibes, geometric rhythm, and color magic.
Originally, African Dreams is a 3-color design, where almost every second row is worked in tapestry crochet. One repeat consists of 96 stitches. However, I decided to modify the pattern into a 64-stitch version suitable for sport or DK weight yarn.
There is also a beginner-friendly 2-color option available for both versions.
Since the pattern repeats, it can be adjusted to different sizes.
For the 96-stitch blanket, I recommend using a fine-weight yarn, such as Twister Solid, along with a matching hook size. For the 64-stitch repeat version, I used Scheepjes Colour Crafter yarn in the shades Delft, Breda, and Gouda.
The pattern includes:
- 4 charts with marked row repeats
- 4 corresponding written patterns
- Photo tutorials for all stitches used
- Step-by-step instructions on how to begin
- Guidance on color placement and section combinations
Multiple versions are included, so you can choose the one that best fits your style — whether you’re drawn to the rich rhythm of a bold 3-color design or prefer the calm elegance of a simple 2-color version.
I wish you a joyful crochet journey and lots of inspiration along the way!
I’ve done my best to eliminate all errors, but if you notice any mistakes in the chart or instructions, feel free to reach out — I’ll be happy to help.
