This pattern suggests a 4mm hook and any DK yarn of your choice. You may use other hooks or yarn but obviously the blanket size will come out different.
The PDF pattern contains general instructions on the filet crochet technique used, a full row by row written pattern following a bottom-up approach, a short hand pattern for those familiar with the technique who just want to know spacings, and a detailed image chart.
This pattern is designed by Carla Gasson (Snugalulu). You can sell items made from this pattern but you shall not copy, sell or redistribute the pattern or a modified version.
The photos here and in the pattern are not to be used to advertise products you make for sale.
The pattern is FULLY TESTED, special thankyou to our pattern tester for testing this pattern.
OTE ABOUT BORDER - We don’t usually provide details of borders, with so many we rather you choose your own. For the one in the photo Carla used the Bella Coco “wave border” tutorial. See here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mim4dNbgxnY&t=7s
With a little change - BC used 4 DC as the base for her wave, I used 4SC as the base for my wave.
So start in the corner of the blanket. Attach yarn and do 2 SC in the corner space/stitch. Do SC in the next 2 stitches. Ch 4. Turn work and slip stitch to the top of the 1st SC to anchor the ch4. Turn work back, work 7 DC in the loop - that creates the wave.
work 1 SC in each of the next 4 stitches. CH 4, anchor this ch4 by turn your work around and slip stitch around the base of the ch 4 created for the previous wave. Turn work around to the correct side again and create 7 DC’s in the loop.
Repeat the last set of instructions all the way around your blanket.
Please watch the Bella Coco youtube tutorial for visual instructions.
