African Mosaic Throw
The AFRICAN MOSAIC Throw was inspired by the renowned South African Ndebele artist, Dr. Esther Mahlangu, who is internationally celebrated for her vibrant geometric artwork, including her iconic BMW Art Car project. Photos have been included for inspiration.
While designing this throw, I carefully selected the yarn and colours to reflect the spirit of Africa. The earthy tones made me feel deeply connected to Mother Earth, confirming that they were the perfect choice for this design.
The pattern is created using the overlay mosaic crochet technique and is worked primarily from a chart. Helpful resources, including links on how to read mosaic crochet charts, can be found in the General Information section. Twisted fringes add a distinctive African touch to the throw, and small beads may be added for extra detail and character.
