Afterglow is light or radiance remaining in the sky after the sun has set.

“Afterglow” is an elegant and delicate shawl with a beautiful scalloped edging. This shawl would make a great accessory for any time of the year. The shawl is seamless and knitted bottom-up. The shawl would be a great project for an intermediate as well as experienced knitter.

Finished Size:
The sample shawl in the photographs after blocking measures 130 cm (51 inches) for the straight edge on the top of the shawl and 51 cm (20 inches) for the height of the shawl at the center. You can easily make it bigger or smaller.

Yarn: 1 skeins = 437 yards (400 m) of Handmaiden Fine Yarn Sea Silk (70% Silk, 30% Plant fiber, fingering, 4ply).
349.6 yards (319.7m) of colorway “Mine Gold” was used for the sample shawl.
The yarn can be substituted for a lace weight yarn if desired.

Scalloped edge instructions are written only.

The “Afterglow” shawl design received an Honorable Mention in Handmaiden Yarns Spring design competition.
