This pattern is written using US crochet terms. It can be made using any sock, fingering, light fingering or 4 ply weight yarn. The grey/red/orange yarn shown in the photographs is the “Lava” gradient by Dye Candy.

The main body of the shawl is made using the following stitches:
Double crochet
Single Crochet
Chain
Slip Stitch

The edging trim for the shawl is freeform crochet made using a combination of single crochet, slip stitches and chains. Suggestions are given in the pattern for creating freeform curves and full instructions are also provided for one version of the edging, should you choose to use them.
