This slip over features a mock cable lace pattern up the centre front as well as a colourblock gradient created by using two colours of 4-ply sock yarn held together - offering you the opportunity to have fun with colour.

I chose a variegated yarn and a solid colour to get the effect I wanted. If you prefer, use two solid colours to create your gradient. For a contrast stripe effect you could use three colours of 4-ply held double but the yarn amounts would be different to those given here.

The two strands of 4-ply held together give a similar fabric as a heavier aranweight yarn.
