’Aglaia’ is a cozy winter hat of rustic elegance.
It looks nice with formal coats and any type of outdoor wear.

All you need to know is how to knit, to purl and how to knit two stitches together.
Absolute beginners might need a little assistance for the hat’s crown…or learn how to fight with some double pointed needles.
It is an easy, pleasant and fast knit.
The pattern is a double seed stitch.

The hats on the pictures are made for ladies ( me, size m), but the pattern can be adapted easily to any size.
The cast on is a multiply of 6.
For ladies size cast on : small =72, medium =78, large =84 stitches.
For teens cast on : small= 66, medium= 72, large= 78stitches
For girls cast on : small= 54, medium= 60, large= 66 stitches.
For toddlers cast on 42 or 48 stitches

The ‘Aglaia’ hats on the pictures have a brim of 2 inches/ 5 cm.
Circumference : 16-17 inches/ 48-48 cm.
Height : 18-20 inches/ 22-26 cm.
The yellow ‘ Aglaia’ is a regular hat, the dark grey and the white projects are ‘slouch hats’ with a longer hat’s body.

’ Aglaia’ was knitted with super bulky yarns.
The yarn’s banderoles suggested needle sizes US 10 plus / 6-7 mm.
For beeing a real cozy windbreaker and to achieve a good texture to stand the cold season,
16 inch/ 32 cm circular needles , US# 7&8, 4.5&5.0 mm are a good choice.
Double pointed needles are great for the last rows of the hat’s crown.
A crochet hook or a darning needle are useful tools to finish your ‘Aglaia’ hat.
All of the ‘Aglaia’ hats were knitted with one skein of yarn only.

Happy knitting!
