Airmail from Canada
This design has a hole in the back and is therefore very suitable for long hair.
The hat is made in a slip stich pattern, where some stitches are worked, while others are slipped with the yarn either in front of or behind the knitting. The technique demands a little patience, because the knitting grows slowly. However, in return you get to knit a multicoloured design using only one colour at the time.
The design is inspired by a postcard my daughter sent me while she was in Canada. When you see the hat from a distance, the yellow stitches stand out and call to mind the many glimpses of light that fortunately we have in our everyday lives - like for instance a postcard from someone that you love dearly.
Enjoy yourself
All my best
