Design
In August, my son’s marching band went on a tour to Scotland and I went along as a leader.
It was a fantastic trip, during which I spotted a lot of wool and knitwear. The Aisly’s sock pattern is similar to one I saw on a sweater in a shop in Oban.
For my sample I have used a fantastic 100% BFL sock yarn hand dyed by Caerthran of Triskelion Yarns in Wales.

Sizes
Small (Medium, Large)
The circumference round the waist of the foot is 16.5 (19, 21.5) cm / 6.5 (7.5, 8.5)”, while the length of the sock is adjustable.
For a good fit, make socks 2.5 cm / 1” shorter than foot length.

Yarn Used
Triskelion Elen Sock (100% BFL) or other durable fingering weight yarn, 400m/100g.
MC: 160 (190, 220) m / 180 (210, 245) yards
CC1: 85 (90, 100) m / 95 (100, 110) yards
CC2: 50 (55, 60) m / 55 (60, 65) yards
Note that meterage / yardage may differ depending on the length of the sock.

Gauge
On 2.25 mm / US1 needles: 34 sts and 44 rnds = 10x10 cm / 4x4” in st st.
I am a tight knitter so you may need to go down a needle size to obtain gauge.
