Let’s face it: bonnets on littles are always adorable. AKI was initially designed to be worked up in cotton, allowing your babe to wear their hat in those in between months, before the weather is really cold. It is, however, just as wonderful in a merino or alpaca yarn, when that precious noggin needs to be kept toasty warm.

AKI is knitted flat, then joined at the back using the three-needle bind off technique. Chin ties are made using crochet chain stitch and threaded through the neckline to form a drawstring. Please note that provisions have been made within the pattern for merino/alpaca, so please pay attention to these small differences.
